HENRY-SENACHWINE GRADE SCHOOL & JR. HIGH REGISTRATION
Henry-Senachwine Grade School & Jr. High will hold registration on Thursday, July 27, 2017, for all students in grades K-8 who live in Henry-Senachwine School District. Registration times will be from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. and 4 p.m.–7 p.m. Registration will be held in the foyer and in the cafeteria. NOTE: Due to the Illinois State Board of Education regulations, everyone will be required to show his or her driver's license as proof of residency. Free and Reduced Lunch Applications will be available at registration. New students should contact the school office (309-364-2531) immediately concerning registration. Parents/Guardians of incoming kindergarten students are asked to bring the parent questionnaire and any other completed paperwork to the grade school office prior to registration. The 2017–2018 school term will begin on Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
Registration fees for students in grades K–8 are $65 or $16.00 for students who qualify for reduced-lunch fees. Registration fees will be waived for students who qualify for free lunch. The registration fee includes the use of textbooks, workbooks, dictionaries, etc. Students shall furnish requested items on the 2017-2018 supply list. Students in grades 6-8 will also need a P.E. uniform for a daily P.E. class. The cost for P.E. uniforms prices are as follows: Shirts (Youth –XL) $6.00, additional charge for 2XL and larger, shorts (Youth-XL) $10.00, additional charge for 2XL and larger. Students in grades 3-8 must also purchase a $5.50 assignment notebook from the school in order to record and keep track of their assignments. Kindergarten students have an additional yearly fee of $50 for the milk they receive at snack time each morning. Unfortunately, this milk fee is not included with free or reduced lunches. The estimated cost of cafeteria meals are as follows: Breakfast is $1.45 and Lunch is $2.45.
Students entering kindergarten and sixth grade will be required to provide proof of a completed physical examination including an immunization record in addition to a completed dental examination. Students in second grade will also be required to receive a dental examination. Additionally, students entering kindergarten and students entering an Illinois school for the first time are required to receive a vision examination. New students to the district will need a completed Illinois physical examination and immunization record. All school physicals and immunization records are due on August 16, 2017. Kindergarten and new students will also need to bring in a copy of a certified birth certificate and a social security card if they have not previously provided these items.
Kindergarten-Fifth grade Parent Orientation will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, from
5 p.m.-6 p.m. followed by Junior-high Parent Orientation from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. Students may bring school supplies to Orientation.
